Remove bolts (16). Remove bearing retainer (18) with lip seal (17).

Remove O-ring seal (19) and spacer (20).

Invert the coupler adapter. Remove bolt (21) and retainer (22).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove coupler assembly (24). The weight of coupler assembly (24) is approximately 202 kg (445 lb).

Remove bolts (25). Use Tooling (A) to remove coupling (26) from drive hub (27). The weight of coupling (26) is approximately 163 kg (360 lb). The weight of drive hub (27) is approximately 39 kg (86 lb).
Use the following steps to disassemble coupling (26).

Remove eight bolts (A) and eight hard washers (B) from cover plate (C). Discard eight bolts (A) and eight hard washers (B).
Use a suitable lifting device and remove cover plate (C) from housing (F). The approximate weight of cover plate (C) is 23 kg (51 lb).
Blow out debris/contaminants with compressed air.
Use two people to remove hub star (D) and inspect for contact between hub star (D) and outer coupling back-face or cover plate (C). The approximate weight of hub star (D) is 41 kg (90 lb).
Observe the location and orientation of element set (E) for assembly purposes. Refer to Illustration 16 and Illustration 17. The main elements are to be assembled in the original orientation to prevent altering the direction of compression (set).
Clean element set (E) and inspect the elements for excessive setting or wear. Replace the complete element set (E) if any element does not meet the reuse guidelines in Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF9338.

Remove bolts (29). Remove bearing retainer (31) with lip seal (30).

Remove O-ring seal (32) and plug (33).

Use a suitable press to remove shaft (34) with bearing (35), spacer assembly (36), and bearing (37).

Align the shaft assembly such that the shoulder of shaft (34) is oriented at the bottom.
Use a suitable press to remove bearing (35), spacer assembly (36), and bearing (37) from shaft (34).
