G3516 (4EK) EnginesDescription of Change: A new electronic actuator is available for the high pressure AFRC on these engines. The new electronic actuator is water tight, which makes the actuator suitable for outdoor operation and exposure to rain.Adaptable To: The new 141-8799 Electronic Actuator can be used as a replacement for the 102-7506 or 7E-3335 Electronic Actuator Groups on these engines. The 141-8799 Actuator is waterproof and should be used in outdoor applications. The chart and Illustration 1 identify the parts which are required to replace the 102-7506 or 7E-3335 Electronic Actuator Groups with the 141-8799 Electronic Actuator. Note: When installing the 141-8799 Electronic Actuator, the new 169-3341 Control Group (Personality Module) must be installed in the 169-8667 Junction Box Group. The new 169-3341 Control Group contains new governor gains, which are compatible with the 141-8799 Electronic Actuator.

Identification Of Parts Required To Replace The 102-7506 Or 7E-3335 Electronic Actuator Groups With The 141-8799 Electronic Actuator. Assembly Procedure
The 141-8799 Electronic Actuator is to be installed at cylinder number six on G3512 Engines (see Illustration 2) and cylinder number eight on G3516 Engines (see Illustration 3).

Location of the 141-8799 Actuator (1) on G3516 (4EK) Engines. Number Eight Cylinder (Y).1. Remove the former 102-7506 or 7E-3335 Electronic Actuator Group for the AFRC and the associated linkage.2. Install the 1W-8129 Supports (5) and the 155-1721 Bracket (6), as shown in Illustration 1.3. Install the 141-8799 Electronic Actuator (1) on the bracket (6).4. Set the actuator to the "Open" position. The "Open" position is when the actuator pointer is pointing toward "100" on the scale on the actuator.5. Install the actuator lever (8) on the actuator shaft at an angle of 53 degrees below horizontal, as shown in Illustration 4.

With the AFRC valve wide open, (the valve is wide open when the line on the end of the AFRC valve shaft is parallel to the direction of flow through the valve), install the valve lever (20) on the valve shaft so that the lever is at approximately 15 degrees below horizontal. See Illustration 4.7. Assemble nut (15) or rod end (14) and assemble nut (18) on rod end (17). Assemble the rod ends in rod (16). See Illustration 1. Provide equal thread engagement on each rod end (14 and 17). Set the preliminary length between rod end holes to approximately 250 mm (10 in).8. While maintaining the positions of levers (8 and 20), adjust the length of the rod assembly so that the rod assembly can be installed on the levers. After the rod assembly is installed on the levers, tighten the lock nuts at each end of the rod assembly.9. Remove the previous personality module from the junction box. Install the 169-3341 Personality Module.
