Some C13 and C15 On-Highway Engines may receive a 3719-0 diagnostic code. This code indicates that the soot load is excessive.Solution
If a C13 or a C15 On-Highway Engine indicates a 3719-0 code then follow these instructions. First make sure that the Aftertreatment Regeneration Device (ARD) Disable Switch is in the "Enable" position. If the Disable Switch is in the "Disable" position then the Caterpillar Regeneration System (CRS) is disabled. Soot will accumulate as engine operation continues. Eventually, a 3719-0 code may be activated.The Operations and Maintenance Manual gives specific instructions on the operation of the Disable Switch. The location of the Disable Switch depends on the vehicle manufacturer.
