Remove bolts (4) and relief valve access plate (5).

Remove valve piston (9), valve spring (8), and spool assembly (7) from relief valve body (6).

Remove retaining ring (10), spring retainer (11), valve slug (12), ball check spring (13), and check ball (14) from spool assembly (7).

Remove housing plugs (15) and the O-ring seals from relief valve body (6).
Remove housing plug (16) and the O-ring seal from relief valve body (6).
Remove nipple assemblies (17) from relief valve body (6).Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Install nipple assemblies (17) in relief valve body (6). The torque for nipple assemblies (17) is 14 4 N m (10 2 lb ft).
Install the O-ring seal and housing plug (16) in relief valve body (6). The torque for housing plug (16) is 37 7 N m (27 5 lb ft).
Install the O-ring seals and housing plugs (15) in relief valve body (6). The torque for housing plugs (15) is 4.5 1 N m (40 9 lb in).

Install check ball (14), ball check spring (13), valve slug (12), spring retainer (11), and retaining ring (10) in spool assembly (7).

Install the O-ring seal on relief valve cover (3). Install relief valve cover (3) and bolts (2).
