(2) Hook winch (3) Boom winchBoom winch (3) is mounted directly above hook winch (2). The winches are centrally located on the right side of the tractor.

(4) Control manifold (motor flushing) (5) Accumulator (6) Control manifold (flushing valve)Control manifold (motor flushing) (4) is located on the pipelayer frame behind the winches. The manifold controls the oil that flushes through the winch motors when the winches are lowering.Accumulator (5) is located on the winch base housing near the boom winch motor.Control manifold (flushing valve) (6) is also located on the pipelayer frame behind the winches. The flushing valve controls the oil that flushes through each of the pilot control valves when the implement lockout valve is in the UNLOCKED position.

(7) Control manifold (implement lockout)Control manifold (implement lockout) (7) is located under the platform. The manifold is mounted on the right fender of the tractor. The manifold also contains a boom kick-out solenoid that activates when the boom is raised to the vertical position. When the solenoid is activated, the hydraulic oil is blocked. If the oil is blocked, the boom winch cannot raise the boom any further. There are two additional solenoids in the control manifold. At this time the solenoids are not used.

When the control lever is moved forward, the boom will lower. When the control lever is moved backward, the boom will raise.Pilot control valve (three-way) (8a) controls all of the hook functions. When the control lever is moved forward, the hook will lower. When the control lever is moved backward, the hook will raise. Moving the control lever to the Forward/left position will activate the quick-drop function.
