PROBLEM
The existing guard can interfere with the final drive carrier and/or the tracks on certain 963D Track Loaders. If the existing guard interferes with the carrier and/or the tracks, the guard can be reworked by grinding around the carrier and/or the bottom.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Disassemble the 2 Final Drive Guards, 254-5240 and 254-5241.

Draw the new cutting profile, grind according to the profile and weld using the attached Images: 1.2.1, 1.2.2, and 1.2.3.

Repaint the reworked areas and re-assemble the 2 guards on the machine.
