Remove the wheels and the tires from both sides of the machine.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Install Tooling (A) on the hydraulic tank. Attach hose (1A) to the nipple on Tooling (A) and to an air supply. Apply 276 414 kPa (40 60 psi) of air. This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.

Remove cover (2). Repeat this step for the opposite side.
Disconnect hose assemblies (3). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5). Remove all the hardware from the hose assemblies to axle assembly (6).

Disconnect hose assemblies (7) and (8). Remove all the hardware from the hose assemblies to axle assembly (6).

Disconnect hose assembly (9).
Remove plate (10). Repeat this step for the opposite side.

Typical example
Attach a suitable lifting device to axle assembly (6).
Use Tooling (B) to raise axle assembly (6) off Tooling (C) as shown. Remove Tooling (C). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information Tooling (B).

Remove bolt (11A). Remove pin assembly (11).

Remove axle assembly (6) and remove spacers (12). The weight of axle assembly (6) is approximately 1134 kg (2500 lb).

Remove seals (13) and bearings (14).
