Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: The cooling system components and weights may vary depending on your arrangement.

Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
Disconnect tube assemblies (1) and disconnect harness assembly (2).

Remove fan guard assemblies (3).

Remove shroud assemblies (4).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fan assembly (5). The weight of fan assembly (5) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).

Remove bolts (6).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fan assembly (5). The weight of fan assembly (5) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Place fan assembly (5) in position.
