Remove the rear suspension cylinder.
In order to prevent possible personal injury, remove the nitrogen charge before the disassembly of the front suspension cylinder.
High pressure cylinder. Do not remove any parts until pressure has been relieved or personal injury may occur.
Ensure that the nitrogen has been discharged from the suspension cylinder. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS4445, "Servicing the Suspension Cylinders for Off-Highway Trucks".

Position a suitable container below the rear suspension cylinder. Drain any remaining hydraulic oil from the rear suspension cylinder into a suitable container for disposal or storage.
In order to prevent possible personal injury, use a suitable fixture to support the weight of the suspension cylinder. Do not attempt to stand the suspension cylinder on end without the use of a suitable support. Failure to use a suitable support fixture could result in injury or death to personnel in this area.
Position the rear suspension cylinder in Tooling (A) . The weight of the rear suspension cylinder is approximately 148 kg (325 lb).
Remove valve assemblies (5) and the O-ring seals from cylinder assembly (4) .
Remove plug (3) , poppet (2) , and valve (1) from cylinder assembly (4) .
Remove bolts (6) from head (7) .
Put identification on head (7) and cylinder assembly (4) for assembly purposes.
Use Tooling (A) in order to separate cylinder assembly (4) from rod assembly (8) .
Remove wear ring (9) , plate (10) , and ball (11) from rod assembly (8) .
Remove rod assembly (8) from Tooling (A) . Remove head (7) from rod assembly (8) .
Remove O-ring seal (12) and ring (13) from head (7) . Remove U-cup seal (14) and lip seal (15) from head (7) .
Remove lockrings (16) from the head end of cylinder assembly (4) .
Use a suitable press to remove bearing (17) from the head end of cylinder assembly (4) .
Remove lockrings (18) from the rod assembly (8) .
Use a suitable press to remove bearing (19) from the rod assembly (8) .
