Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove ".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) .
Remove O-ring seal (4) and idler gear (7) from housing (5) .
Use Tooling (A) to remove gear (6) from drive shaft (3) .
Before removing the drive shaft from the pump housing, be sure that no burrs exist on the drive shaft. If the drive shaft has burrs on it, the bores in the pump housing may be scratched.
Remove drive shaft (3) from the housing.
