1400 and 1600 Frame Fan Removal and Installation
Fan Removal
Note: This procedure applies only to the 1400 and the 1600 single bearing frame generators. The hub does not need to be removed in order to remove the fan.
Refer to the "Generator - Remove" section of this document in order to obtain access to the fan and the mounting bolts for the flex coupling.
Place an alignment mark (1) on all of the flex coupling plates and the fan with relationship to the main rotor shaft .
Remove the mounting bolts (2) that assemble the flex coupling plates (3) to the hub. Remove the flex coupling plates (3).

Remove the fan mounting bolts (4) that are for the fan (5).

Refer to the "Generator - Remove" section of this document in order to obtain access to the fan and the mounting bolts for the flex coupling.

Install a suitable lifting device on the close coupling adapter (12).
Make an alignment mark (17) from the close coupling adapter (12) to the front bearing bracket (13). Remove the close coupling adapter mounting bolts (14).
Make an alignment mark (11) on the fan with respect to the main rotor.
Remove the front bearing bracket. "Refer to the front Front Backet - Remove and Install" section for the removal procedure. Remove the fan mounting bolts (15). Remove the fan (16). Fan Installation
Assemble the fan onto the main rotor.
Align the marks for the fan and for the coupling (or rotor shaft).
Install fan mounting bolts (15).
