Refer to Special Instruction, M0091321, Battery and Charging System Troubleshooting on certain C4.4, C6.4, C6.6 and C7.1 Machine Engines and use the advanced troubleshooting guide within, prior to any decision to replace the alternator.Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but an interim repair has not been defined. If the troubleshooting guide indicates a fault with the alternator, replace with the same part.
