Install cap (6) onto push arm (5) without shims (7). Use the largest torque from the following list to tighten the bolts.
5 percent of the specified torque
50 N m (37 lb ft)
Maintain an equal distance on the top and bottom at space (Z) between cap (6) and push arm (5). Insert the maximum number of shims into top and bottom spaces (Z) to determine the required number of shims.
Remove bolts (8). Insert shims into the top and bottom spaces (Z). Add one additional shim to each space (Z). When possible, use an equal number of shims for both top and bottom spaces (Z).Note: The number of shims at the top space (Z) must be within one of the number of shims at bottom space (Z). For example, if top space (Z) has eight shims, bottom space (Z) must have seven, eight, or nine shims.
Tighten bolts (8) on bearing cap (6) to a torque of 1800 200 N m (1330 150 lb ft).
The push arm should move freely on the trunnion. The specified minimum tolerance is 0.25 mm (0.010 inch).Note: You may be need to remove one or more shims after a short period of machine operation. Wear can be caused by normal vibrations of the surface or variations in the thickness of the paint.
