On assembly, lubricate all internal components with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Use tool (B) to install lip seal (21) with the lip of the seal toward flange (16). Use tool (A) to install two retaining rings (20) into the ring grooves in flange (16). Use tool (B) to install lip seal (19) with the lip of the seal away from flange (16).

Install two dowels (18) into flange (16).

Install seal (17) into housing (7).

Align housing (7) with the dowel in flange (16) and position the housing on the flange.

Install pressure plate (15) into housing (7). Refer to step 8 for the installation of the seals.

Install idler gear (14) and gear shaft (13) into housing (7).

Install seal (11) and backup seal (12) into pressure plate (10).

Carefully install pressure plate (10) onto housing (7). Install seal (9) and two dowels (8).

Align plate (6) with the two dowels in housing (7) and install four bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 44.5 3.5 N m (33 2.5 lb ft). Install adapter (4).

Install two elbows (2) and O-ring seal (1) to gear pump (3). End By:
Install the gear pump (Hydraulic Fan). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Hydraulic Fan)- Install".
