The rear wheels on the machine are driven by a hydraulic pump and motors. The machine has two axial piston type hydraulic motors that operate in two speeds. A variable displacement propel pump that is also the axial piston type supplies oil to the motors. One motor is mounted above the rear wheels on each side of the machine. The motors drive the wheels through drive shafts and axles.Each propel motor is attached to a parking brake. When the parking brakes are engaged, the brakes prevent the propel motors from rotating.The propel system in this presentation is divided into segments. The first segment contains a graphic of the layout of the machine. This layout provides a general overview of the propel system.The next segments show the location of all hydraulic components and electrical components which are involved with propelling the machine. A brief discussion of each component is provided in these segments. Cross-sectional views of selected components are also used in order to further explain the operation of components in the propel system.The last two sections explain the operation of the electrical system and hydraulic system. Electrical schematics and hydraulic schematics are used in these segments to trace current through the electrical system and hydraulic oil through the hydraulic system.
