Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Wear goggles, gloves, protective clothing, and a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved P95 or N95 half-face respirator when handling a used Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalytic Converter Muffler. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Open hood (1).

Remove clips (4). Remove hose assemblies (3).

Remove bracket (5). Remove harness assembly (6).

Loosen clamps (7) and (8).

Remove bolts (9). Reposition bracket (10) out of the way.
Loosen clamps (11). Remove sensor (13).
Use two people in order to remove catalyst (12). The weight of catalyst (12) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).Installation Procedure
Install catalyst (12) in the reverse order of removal.
