However, an adjustment range exists for applications that require a lower control speed. The value is adjustable in increments of 10 rpm.
For 3500 Engines, the factory set control speed is 1900 rpm. The adjustment range is 1850 to 1950 rpm.
For 3400 Engines, the factory set control speed is 2230 rpm. The adjustment range is 2160 to 2290 rpm.When Mode 6 is active, readout (9) shows the control speed that is programmed into the Automatic Retarder Control (ARC). The control speed is shown in increments of 10 rpm. For example, "195" is 1950 rpm. The ARC will only show values that are within the adjustment range. The control speed decreases when the clear switch is depressed. The control speed increases when the set switch is depressed.Note: The indicators also function in the same manner as the Normal Mode (Mode 0). See Systems Operation, "Normal Mode".The display enters Mode 6 when "-6-" is shown on readout (9) and the set switch and the clear switch are released. The display exits Mode 6 when the set switch and the clear switch are depressed simultaneously or when the engine start switch is turned to the OFF position.For more information about changing modes, see Testing and Adjusting, "Using Service Display Mode to Determine Diagnostic Codes".
