Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Lubricate O-ring seals (8) with the lubricant that is being sealed. Install O-ring seal (8) .

Note: Insure proper orientation of brake housings per side of machine. Improper orientation of brake housings could result in damage to cooling hoses and brake assemblies. Refer to illustration above.
Attach Tooling (A) to brake housing (6) in a manner allowing for proper orientation of brake housing onto spindle.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to brake housing (6) . The weight of brake (6) is approximately 2491 N (560 lb). Install brake (6) .
Install nuts (7) . Tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 790 40 N m (583 30 lb ft). Remove Tooling (A) .

Install bolts (5) . Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 300 15 N m (220 11 lb. ft.).

Connect hose assembly (1) . Connect hose assembly (4) . Connect hose assembly (3) . Install bolts (2) .End By: Install the wheel, the wheel bearings and the Duo-Cone seals. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front, Wheel Bearings, and Duo-Cone Seals - Install".
