Introduction
This procedure is utilized when the calibration procedure for the main pump does not pass and an error message of "Machine Speed Not Zero" is registered in Cat® Electronic Technician (ET).This procedure verifies that the main pump is operating properly provided that the minimum displacement of the main pump is adjusted properly.Required Tools

Clear all personnel from the machine and from the area around the machine.
Start the engine.

Engine speed dial
Set the engine speed dial at "10".
Lower the left console.
Position the machine on level ground. Check the visibility and adjust the mirrors for the best vision close to the machine.
Fully depress the service brake pedal until the service brake pedal locks mechanically.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 46° to 60° C (115° to 140° F).
Lower the stabilizers and the blade tip.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and place the bucket on the ground.
Stop the engine.
Raise the left console.

Connect tooling (E) to the service connector.
Start the engine.

Power mode control button on the soft panel switch
Push down on the power mode control button to activate power mode.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when power mode is activated.

Automatic Engine Speed Control (AESC) as displayed on the programmable function key in the monitor.
Disable the automatic engine speed control through the monitor by pressing the programmable button.

Select the hydraulic modulation mode as medium. Press the lower front switch on the left joystick to select the hydraulic modulation mode.
The air conditioning should be turned off for the following test.Adjustment Procedure
Override the “Main Pump Solenoid Current” until the engine speed has reached the correct value.Note: Refer to Table 1 in this manual for the correct value.
Start the Electronic Technician.
Select the Machine ECM and then select “OK”.
Select “Diagnostics” from the main menu.
Select “Diagnostic Tests”.
Select “Override Parameters”.
Select “Main Pump Solenoid Current” and set the current to 0.0 amp.
Remove the cap from minimum displacement screw (1).

Turn minimum displacement screw (1) counterclockwise until minimum displacement screw (1) no longer touches the swash plate.
Turn minimum displacement screw (1) clockwise until minimum displacement screw (1) touches the swash plate, and then turn adjustment screw (1) clockwise an additional quarter turn.
Install the cap onto minimum displacement screw (1).
