Three wiring diagrams are used to illustrate the complete 24 volt electrical system for the 666 and 657 Tractor-Scraper units. Two diagrams are shown here to illustrate the two portions of the scraper wiring. That portion located on the tractor, is shown on page 38 and the remaining portion, located on the scraper, is shown on page 39. The diagram to illustrate the tractor circuits of the system (charging, starting, etc.) is shown in the tractor Operation and Maintenance Instructions. The wiring harnesses for these portions are connected by three pin connectors, the first located near the left wheel brake rotochamber, the second inside the left end of the draft tube and the third on the left side of the scraper frame near the retarder. The 24 volt tractor electrical system batteries and charging alternator, whether gasoline starting or direct electric starting, supply current for the scraper portion of the system through a connection to the red wires on the small terminal strip located under the dash panel of the tractor. When the electrical system is being serviced, check the wiring for loose or dirty connections, worn insulation or broken wires. Inspect the battery terminals and cables. Poor connections or wiring can cause trouble or damage in other parts of the electrical system. Wiring Diagrams: The diagrams are furnished so that when it becomes necessary to disturb the electrical equipment for purpose of reconditioning or parts replacement, reassembling may be accomplished without difficulty.
