Location of breather on the CX35 On-Highway Transmission (1) BreatherA minor oil leak from breather (1) may occur in some applications. The leak may occur with transmission that have a different internal passageway that leads to breather (1) than current production transmissions. If a leak occurs, breather (1) should be remote mounted with a flexible hose in order to improve performance of the breather. Mounting of breather (1) should be approximately 2 feet above the transmission. The flexible hose must have a continuous downward slope from breather (1) to the transmission case.Note: Inspect the breather within 3 to 4 days. If air conditions are dirty, then inspect the breather daily.
Remove the breather.
Wash the breather in a clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather cap to air dry.
Install the breather.
