Start the engine and raise the screed. Engage the travel locks. Lower the tow arms onto the travel locks.
Fully extend the extenders. Shut off the engine. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Allow ample time for the screed plate to cool.

Disconnect harness assembly (1).
Use Tooling (A) to remove temperature sensor (2) from the screed plate.Extender
Start the engine and raise the screed. Engage the travel locks. Lower the tow arms onto the travel locks.
Fully extend the extenders. Shut off the engine. Allow ample time for the screed plate to cool.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove the six bolts, the six washers, and cover assembly (1).
Remove the five bolts, the five washers, and plate assembly (2).

Disconnect harness assembly (3).
Remove temperature sensor (4) from the screed plate.Installation Procedure
Extender
Install temperature sensor (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (B) to the portion of temperature sensor (4) that comes into contact with the screed plate.
Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of temperature sensor (4).
Tighten temperature sensor (4) with Tooling (A) to a torque of 30 5 N m (266 44 lb in).Main
Install temperature sensor (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Apply Tooling (B) to the portion of temperature sensor (2) that comes into contact with the screed plate.
Apply Tooling (C) to the threads of temperature sensor (2).
Tighten temperature sensor (2) with Tooling (A) to a torque of 30 5 N m (266 44 lb in).
