Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.

The following test procedures are used in order to verify that the flow meter is operating correctly. The electromagnetic flow meter is programmed from the supplier. The flow meter is not adjustable in the field.Remove the side cover of the flow meter and the terminal cover.Note: Do not allow contaminants to enter the transmitter for flow meter (A) .Test One
Verify electrical power to the flow meter.

Remove the end cover from the transmitter for the flow meter (A).
Turn the key switch to the ON position.Note: The engine does not need to be running.
Turn the emulsion controller to the ON position.
Connect positive "+" lead (7) from Tooling (A) to the DC positive "+" terminal (2). Connect negative "-" lead (6) to the DC negative "-" terminal (1). The voltage should read 24 VDC to 28 VDC.
If no voltage is available, check the harness and the emulsion controller for positive fault or for negative fault.Test Two
Verify the signal output from the flow meter.

Set Tooling (A) to measure the frequency (Hertz).
Start the engine.
Turn the emulsion controller to the ON position.
Set the machine to circulate liquid that flows through the flow meter. Set the liquid control switch to the RECIRCULATE position.
When the power is on and when the liquid is flowing through the flow meter, connect the positive "+" signal terminal (5) and the negative "-" lead (6) to the negative "-" signal terminal (4) of the flow meter.
If there is no value on the multimeter, discontinue the second test. Move to the third test. If a value shows but there is no reading on the LED display on the controller, replace the additive controller controller.
Check for a signal at the harness of the controller. At the round plug that is located on the back side of the controller, use spoons to connect to the back side of the plug. Connect the positive "+" lead of the multimeter to pin (30). Connect the negative "-" lead to pin (12). Run the machine according to Step 5. If there is no signal, check the continuity of the harness wires that are between the flow meter and the plug. If a signal exists and there is no value on the controller for the LED, replace the additive controller.Note: In order to convert gallons per minute to hertz, use the following formula:
