Information:
Lifting the Motor
Before the motor is lifted, ensure that suitable lifting equipment is available and that the personnel are familiar with lifting work. The weight of the motor is shown on the rating plate, on the dimension drawing and the packing list. While conducting any motor lifting operations, the following points must be observed:
Use only the lifting lugs or eyes intended for lifting the complete motor. Do not use any small additional lifting lugs or eyes available, as those lugs or eyes are only for service purposes.
The center of gravity of machines with the same frame may vary due to different outputs, mounting arrangements and auxiliary equipment.
Check that eyebolts or the lifting lugs integrated with the motor frame are undamaged before lifting. Damaged lifting lugs must not be used.
Lifting eyebolts must be tightened before lifting. If needed the position of the eyebolt must be adjusted with suitable washers.

Lifting a horizontal packaged motor
Note: Always lift the motor only by the lifting eyelets provided on the motor. At the factory, the motor is packaged for shipping inside a wooden box. The shipping package should be lifted by forklift from the bottom, or by crane with lifting slings. The lifting sling positions are painted on the package. Refer to Illustration 2: Always lift the motor only by the lifting eyelets provided on the motor.Lifting the Motor on a Pallet

Lifting a horizontal motor on a pallet
Note: Always lift the motor only by the lifting eyelets provided on the motor.A motor mounted on a pallet may be lifted with a crane, using the lifting eyes of the motor only. A motor mounted on a pallet may be also lifted with a forklift from the bottom of the pallet.Note: Refer to Illustration 3 and Illustration 4 for examples of using a crane for lifting a motor on a pallet. Always lift the motor only by the lifting eyelets provided on the motor.Lifting an Unpacked Motor

Lifting an unpacked motor
Note: Always lift the motor only by the lifting eyelets provided on the motor.Suitable lifting equipment must be used! The motor should always be lifted by crane from the lifting eyes on the frame of the motor. The motor should never be lifted by forklift from the bottom, or the feet, of the motor.
