STEERING COLUMN GP 3501110 - Caterpillar

1. Position a floor jack or similar lifting device under the axle gearbox. Remove six bolts (1). Remove axle gear reducer (2). The weight of the axle gear reducer is 25 kg (55 lb). For installation of the axle gear reducer, reverse the removal step.End By:Install axle propel motor.Disassemble & Assemble Axle Gear Reducer
Start By:Remove axle gear reducer. 1. Remove twelve bolts (1). 2. Remove cover (2), carrier (3) and ring gear (4) from housing (5). Remove the O-ring seals from cover (2) and housing (5). Check the O-ring seals for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 3. Remove spacer (6), gear (7), spacer (8) and coupling (9) from carrier (3). 4. Use a hammer and punch to push roll pin (11) into shaft (12). Remove shaft (12) and gear (10). Remove the roll pin from the shaft. Repeat this for the other two gears. The following steps are for the assembly of the gear reducer. 5. Position gear (10) and install shaft (12). Install roll pin (11) in the shaft. Repeat for the other two gears. 6. Install gear (7), spacer (8) and coupling (9) into carrier (3). 7. Position the housing down on the flange as shown. 8. Install carrier (3) in the housing. Install O-ring (13) in housing (5). 9. Install ring gear (4). Install spacer (6). 10. Install O-ring (14) in cover (2). 11. Position cover (2) and fasten with twelve bolts (1).End By:Install axle gear reducer.
