Removal Procedure
Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.
Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi) .Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.
Purge the air from the air tanks.
Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes.

Remove seven bolts (1) and the washers that secure access plate (2) to the machine. Carefully lower and slowly lower the access plate from the machine.

Cut the two tie straps from electrical connections (3) . Disconnect the electrical connections. Cut tie strap (4) and disconnect three tube assemblies (5) from brake control valve (6) .

Pull the floormat away from the brake control valve. Remove three bolts (7) and the washers that secure brake control valve (6) to the machine. Remove the brake control valve from the machine.Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Install the brake control valve to the machine. Install the washers and three bolts (7) that secure brake control valve (6) to the machine.

Connect three tube assemblies (5) to brake control valve (6) and install tie strap (4) . Connect the electrical connections. Install the two tie straps to electrical connections (3) .

Carefully raise and slowly raise the access plate to the machine. Install the washers and seven bolts (1) that secure access plate (2) to the machine.
