PIP/PSPdelivery information FINAL NOTIFICATION TO NORTHAMERICAN DEALERS ABOUT A CHANGE IN THE DELIVERY PROCESS OF SERVICE LETTERS
As you learned from the Service Letter SEBE7652or SEBE7653, Caterpillar launched an aggressive process and product improvementstrategy known as 6 Sigma. A 6 Sigma team (comprised of members from NACD,PSNA, Truck Department and Quality and Reliability) was sanctioned to addressthe delivery cycle time of Service Letters. They found that it is not uncommonfor it to take as long as 4 weeks to receive a Letter. The team, workingwith a select group of North American dealers, tested a proposed solutionto the cycle time issue. Their solution will utilize SIS Web to deliverService letters.Beginning September 2001, all Service Letterswill be delivered via SIS Web. An e-mail message indicating a Service Letterhas been released and is available on SIS Web will be sent to an e-mailaccount at your dealership. This e-mail will be forwarded automaticallyto you through your own internal e-mail system. A person within your dealershipeither has been, or will be, designated to maintain the distribution listwithin your dealership.Detailed in each notification will be the medianumber, the PIP/PSP number, and the Service Letter title including theaffected models. There will also be a link to SIS Web. If you are interestedin the particular Service Letter, simply click on the link to SIS Web.Once you have gone through Corporate Web Security, enter the media numberor PIP/PSP number to review the letter.
