Torque Converter Output Temperature Correctionfor Certain Track Type Tractors
Installation Procedure: If the machine has been fitted withthe Flashable Caterpillar Monitoring System (CMS) part number 1547443 withsoftware part number 2316530, Do Not complete this procedure. This procedure is only to be performedon the machines listed on this product support program. This proceduremust only be performed on the Torque Converter Output Temperature Sender.If this procedure is performed on any other machine or any other componentserious system damage may occur. Consult Caterpillar Inc. Product Supportif there are any questions. This procedure is to address a software mismatchbetween the Caterpillar Monitoring System and the Torque Converter OutputTemperature. Not all machines require this procedure.
In order to gain access to the 40-pin connectoron the back of the CMS, remove the machine?s dash assembly. To remove thedash assembly, first remove the three bolts (1) that secure the dash assembly.See Illustration 1.

Remove the 40-pin connector (2) from the CMS.See Illustration 2.

From the 2326701 Hardware Kit-Resistor, use the1516320 Wire Removal Tool (red pin extractor) (3) to remove Pin 28 ("443YL") from the 40-pin connector. See Illustration 3.

Insert "443 YL", (removed from pin 28, 40-pinconnector) into Pin 1 of the 2-pin 1552269 DT Connector Plug (provided)(4). See Illustration 4.

Insert yellow wire assembly (5) (included in thekit) into Pin 2 of the DT connector (4). See Illustration 5.

To lock the pins in place, insert the 155-2261Plug Lock Wedge (6) into the 2- pin DT connector. See Illustration 6.

Insert the loose end of the Yellow wire (insertedinto Pin 2 of the DT connector ? Step 5) into Pin 28 of the 40-pin CMSconnector (7). See Illustration 7.

Insert the 1166203 Resistor (8) into the 2-PinDT connector. See Illustration 8.

Reconnect the 40-pin connector to the CMS.
Use a tie wrap (9) to secure the DT connectorto the wire harness. See Illustration 9.

Reinstall the dash assemble.
Operate the machine and ensure the Torque ConverterOutput Temperature gage is functioning correctly.
Using the 4C8195 Control Service Tool, monitorMode 2, Gage 2 on the CMS.
Ensure the Torque Converter Output temperaturereading increases as the machine is brought to operating temperature.
Return the machine to operation.
