The weight of the lift cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb) 15. If necessary, remove bearing (10) from bearing caps (9). Refer to steps a through c for the removal procedure.a. Use 3.0 mm (.125 in) low hydrogen welding rods (#7018). Weld a continuous bead completely around the inside diameter of the bearing.b. Allow the bearing to cool.c. Remove the bearing from the cap.Install Lift Cylinder
1. Use a press and Tooling (A) to install bearings (10) in bearing caps (9). The inside diameter of the bearing must be 88.87 0.10 mm (3.499 .004 in) after installation. 2. Attach a suitable lifting sling and hoist to lift cylinder (7).3. Carefully raise lift cylinder (7) in position. The weight of the lift cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb) 4. Lubricate the inside of bearing caps (9) with 5P-0960 Grease prior to installation.5. Install bearing caps (9) on both sides of lift cylinder (7). 6. Carefully lower lift cylinder (7) to the yoke and install bolts (8).7. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 370 50 N m (275 35 lb ft). 7. Connect hose assemblies (3).8. Connect harness connecters (4).9. Tighten bolts (1) until snug, maintaining an equal distance on both sides of the cap.14. Insert an equal amount of shims as needed in the spaces between the bearing cap and the lift cylinder assembly.15. Add one additional shim to each of the spaces. This should allow the assembly to move on the trunnion freely and within the specified clearance. The specified clearance between the trunnion and rod assembly is 0.50 0.25 mm (.020 .010 in)16. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 620 80 N m (460 60 lb ft).17. Separate the steering frame lock link. Refer to the topic "Steering Frame Lock Link, Separate & Connect" in this module.Disassemble Lift Cylinder
