Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Flywheel - Remove".
Support the engine with blocks or a suitable lifting device.

Remove bolts (1).
Remove flywheel housing (2). The weight of the flywheel housing is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (3) from rear seal carrier (4). Installation Procedure

Apply Tooling (A) to O-ring seal (4). Install O-ring seal (3) onto rear seal carrier (4).
Apply Tooling (B) to the face of the cylinder block.

Position flywheel housing (2) on the rear of the cylinder block. The weight of flywheel housing (2) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
Install bolts (1). End By:
Install the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Flywheel - Install".
