Replace Filter
The machine should be level. All attachments should be lowered to the ground with a slight down pressure. The transmission lock-lever should be in the LOCKED (DOWN) position and the engine should be stopped.
To avoid transmission contamination, the filter element housing must be drained of oil before removing the filter element.
1. Open the access door located at the front of the machine. 2. Pull the drain line out of the opening.3. Remove the drain plug (if equipped) from the end of the hose. 4. Open both access doors on the left side of the machine. 5. Open the drain valve located below the filter and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.6. Close the drain valve and reinstall the drain plug into the drain line.7. Reinstall the drain hose into the opening and close the access door on the front of the machine. 8. Remove the filter using a strap type wrench. 9. Remove used filter element (1) and housing from the filter base. Inspect seal (2) on the top of the housing. Replace the seal if it is cut or damaged.
Dirty oil or debris left in the transmission filter housing during filter change can enter the transmission and cause serious damage. Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the bottom of the housing.
10. Clean the bottom of the filter housing with a clean, dry cloth.11. Remove the filter element from the filter housing. Clean the filter housing. 12. Install the new element into the filter housing.13. Install the cover assembly into the housing.14. Refill the hydrostatic transmission with oil. See the topic Hydrostatic Transmission under Every 10 Service Hours or Daily in the Maintenance Section of this manual.15. Close the access doors.Implement Hydraulic System
Replace Filter
Use caution when draining oil or changing filters. Hot oil or components can cause burns if they contact the skin.
1. Open the access door located at the front of the machine. 2. Remove the hydraulic tank fill cap.3. Remove the bolts for the filter cover. Use the handle to pull and remove the filter assembly. 4. Remove the nut and retainer from the filter assembly. Remove and properly discard the filter element. 5. Inspect and install a new filter element. Install the retainer and nut. Tighten the nut to a torque of 10 1.5 N m (7 1 lb ft). 6. Check the condition of the seals. Replace the seals as necessary if they are damaged or cut. Lubricate the seals with clean hydraulic oil. 7. Install the filter assembly in the filter housing, using caution to align properly. Install and tighten the cover bolts. 8. Remove the strainer and clean it. Install strainer and fill cap. To prevent possible injury, do not use the starter motor to turn the flywheel.Hot engine components can cause burns.
