Information:
1. Drain the hoist hydraulic tank. The capacity is 64 U.S. gal. (242 litre).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE2. Remove mud flap and guard (1).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE3. Remove upper pin bolts. Fasten tooling (B), and remove upper pin.
When the upper pin comes out, the cylinder will fall against the rear tire.
4. Install tool (A) on the bucket of a wheel loader and hold the body lift cylinder. Put tape on the cylinder rod for protection.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE5. Remove lower pin cover (2).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE6. Install tooling (C) and remove cylinder from lower pin. Weight of the cylinder is 875 lb. (399 kg).Install Hoist Cylinders
TYPICAL EXAMPLE1. Put a radiator hose clamp (1) around the lower pin bearing so the bearing will be kept together as the cylinder slides on.2. Install guide pins (2).3. Fasten tool (A) to the bucket of a wheel loader, and put body lift cylinder over guide pins.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE4. Push the cylinder over the bearing and remove the hose clamp.5. Remove the guide pins and install the lower pin cover. It is difficult for the upper pin bearings to make an alignment with the pin boss on the truck body. A pilot (dummy pin), tool (B), with a little smaller diameter than the service pin makes the job easier.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE6. Lift the cylinder into position and install tool (B).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE7. Push the service pin into the pin boss and through the cylinder. The service pin will push the pilot (dummy pin) out. Install the pin bolts.8. Fill hoist hydraulic system to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.Disassemble Hoist Cylinders

start by:a) remove hoist cylinders Make sure all of the oil is removed from the cylinder before it is disassembled. 1. Put the cylinder in position on tool (A). 2. Remove twelve bolts and lockwashers from the head and pull the head end of the hoist cylinder until there is enough room to install blocks between rod assembly (1) (second stage) and the cylinder (first stage).3. Install the blocks as shown. 4. Install 3/4"-10 NC bolts in the head end of the hoist cylinder and push head (2) on the rod assembly. 5. Pull head end of the hoist cylinder (4) off of cylinder (3) (first stage). Remove cylinder (4) from tool (A). 6. Use tool (A) to push cylinder (3) on to rod assembly (1). 7. Remove ring (5) from the end of the cylinder. Make sure the cylinder is pushed far enough on the rod assembly so nuts (7) can be removed. 8. Remove six nuts (7) from studs and piston (6). 9. Pull cylinder (3) off of rod assembly (1) and remove head (2). 10. Remove O-ring seal (8) and back-up ring from the outside of the head. Inspect the back-up ring and O-ring seal and make replacements if they are broken or damaged. 11. Inspect two seal rings (9), and wiper (10) and remove from the grooves in the head if replacements are needed. 12. Install two
