The bracket for the ladder support can be improved in order to prevent cracking. Weld a gusset to the existing support plate in order to stiffen the assembly.Adaptable To: The improvement is adaptable to 561M (S/N: 1KW1-298) Pipelayers. Gusset dimensions (A) 6 mm (0.24 inch) (B) 108 mm (4.25 inch) (C) 50.4 mm (1.98 inch) (D) 30 mm (1.18 inch) (E) 30 mm (1.18 inch) diameter (F) 150 mm (5.91 inch) (G) 30 mm (1.18 inch)
Fabricate one gusset. Refer to Illustration 2 for the dimensions.

Weld a 6 mm (0.24 inch) fillet weld at location (A) in order to join gusset (1) to bracket (2). Refer to Illustration 3.
Assemble the new bracket assembly to the machine.
