Use Tooling (B) to install bearings (8) in the engine oil pump. The bearing joint should be 30 15 degrees from the center line of the two bearing bores. Install the bearings so the bearings are even with the outside of the engine oil pump.
Lubricate the bearings with clean engine oil.

Lubricate idler gear and drive gear (3) with clean engine oil. Install idler gear and drive gear (3) .
Install cover (4) .Note: The engine oil pump must turn freely after assembly. Turn the engine oil pump by hand. Reposition cover (4) if the engine oil pump does not turn freely.
Install bypass valve (5) , spring (6) , and retainer (7) .

Install drive gear (1) . Install bolt (9) . Tighten the bolt to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).End By: Install the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Install".
