Blocking the Bowl and Apron
Bowl or apron movement can cause personal injury. To prevent movement, block the bowl and apron when performing maintenance in the bowl area.
To Block the Bowl
Lower the bowl to the ground or lower it onto blocks. To Block the Apron
1. Remove blocking pin lock bolt (1) and remove blocking pin (2) from its storing position. 2. Raise the apron high enough to clear the blocking pin holder. 3. Install the blocking pin in the blocking position. Lower the apron, until it rests on the blocking pin. Clean the apron of any material that might fall on worker.Changing the Apron Opening
Apron adjustment is a two man operation. Operate the apron control slowly and cautiously to prevent pin binding, or personal injury. Make sure the operator has full view of the adjustment area.Wear protective glasses. Use caution when inserting or striking the pin.
Use lower hole to permit wider apron opening.Use this position for slab material.Use upper hole to allow the apron to be closed completely.Use this position for hauling sand or other loose material. 1. With the apron blocked, remove retaining bolt (1) and shaft assembly (2). 2. Align the rod with the alternate hole in the bracket. Install the shaft assembly and the bolt. Tighten the bolt to the recommended torque.Raise the apron and remove the blocking.Cutting Edges - Replace or Rotate
Replace or rotate cutting edges, or router bits, before mounting surfaces become worn.
Do not weld on cutting edges. Welding will reduce service life.
Each section has two cutting edges. Rotate the sections 180° for double wear. End sections can be moved from one side to the other for additional wear. Each router bit has two cutting edges. Rotate them 180° and install them on the opposite sides for double wear.
