Expansion Tank (4) 245-9206 Expansion Tank As (C) Connector locationThere are several problems that can cause an error message to be displayed on the VIDS monitor. The problems that follow are typical:
An error message for a sensor or a solenoid is displayed on the VIDS monitor.
Water or debris corrodes the connectors on the wiring harness assembly.
A repeated display of the error message after completing repairs to the connectorsRefer to Table 2 for the description of the error messages. Refer to the illustrations for the locations of the connectors.

Corroded Pin And Wire (E) Corrosion

Cracked Rubber Seal On A Connector (F) CrackDisassemble the connectors for the wiring harness assembly. Make sure that the pin and the socket in the connector is not corroded. Corrosion (E) is caused by water and debris. Crack (F) in the seal allows the contamination to enter the connector. The crack is caused by a sharp edge on the crimp of the pin.

Sealant On A Connector (G) SealantReplace the former connector with a new connector if the connection is corroded. Apply sealant (G) to the terminal connection in order to waterproof the new connector.Ground Terminal
Check the ground terminal if error messages are displayed from multiple harness assemblies. Corrosion at the ground terminal can cause failure of the harness assemblies. Failed harness assemblies create the error messages that are displayed on the monitor.
