The head seal for the oversize bolted-head cylinder was the oval seal that is used in an oversize threaded-crown cylinder. The oval seal was located at the lead-in chamfer that is located at the open end of the cylinder tube. In certain applications, this oval seal could leak.Oversized bolted-head cylinders or any bolted-head cylinder that had chronic head seal leakage can now be sealed by using an O-ring that is located at the head joint. This O-ring provides a more effective seal than the oval head seal. The groove for the stock seal is left empty.Not
