Check the condition of all O-ring seals and of all parts. If any components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Install Tooling (A) on both sides of the axle assembly, as shown. Attach a host and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (A).2. Put the axle housing under the rear frame. Raise the axle housing into position. The weight of the rear axle housing assembly is 3000 Kg (6615 lb). 3. Install eight bolts (1) and the washers that hold the rear axle housing to the rear frame. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 2100 250 N m (1555 185 lb ft). 4. Connect breather assembly (2) to the rear differential housing. 5. Install brake cooling hoses (3) and (6) on each wheel end.6. Install brake hoses (4) and (5) on each wheel end. 7. Install two hose retaining clamps (7) on the brake cooling hoses and bolt to the differential housing.8. Fill the differential and final drives to the correct level with oil. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual, for the machine that is being serviced. End By:a. Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tailgate Safety Pins - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.d. Purge the air from the braking system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Braking system Air - Purge" for the machine that is being serviced.e. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
