Description of Change: A new engine oil level gauge with improved "ADD" and "FULL" markings and ranges has been released in order to prevent the possibility of inaccurate filling of the engine oil. The previous engine oil level gauge had "ADD" and "FULL" markings on one side only.The new engine oil level gauge has "ADD" and "FULL" markings on both sides. One side has a range for checking cold oil while the engine is stopped. The other side has a range for checking warm oil while the engine is at low idle. Replace the old engine oil level gauge with the new engine oil level gauge.Adaptable To: The new 314-7780 Oil Level Gauge As (DIPSTICK) directly replaces the old 247-1305 Oil Level Gauge As (DIPSTICK) back to first production. The new dipstick is part of the 269-6540 Oil Level Gauge Gp (Dipstick) .The new 314-7780 Oil Level Gauge As (DIPSTICK) is adaptable to the 777F JRP1-959. The new 314-7780 Oil Level Gauge As (DIPSTICK) became effective in production with 777F JRP960-UP.In order to replace the former dipstick, follow the steps that are provided below.
The machine must be on a level surface and the parking brake must be engaged.
Replace the former dipstick with the 314-7780 Oil Level Gauge As (DIPSTICK).
Check the oil level with the new dipstick .
If the engine is stopped, maintain the oil level between the "ADD" mark and the "FULL" mark. These marks are on the "ENGINE STOPPED WITH COLD OIL" side of the dipstick.
If the engine is running and the oil is at operating temperature, maintain the oil level between the "ADD" mark and the "FULL" mark. These marks are on the "ENGINE AT LOW IDLE WITH WARM OIL" side of the dipstick.
If necessary, remove the oil filler cap and add oil.
Clean the filler cap and install the filler cap.
