Vibration of the steering column may cause the two 8T-9336 Set Screws to become loose on the steering control linkage or the set screws may fall out of the steering control linkage on certain 613G Wheel Tractor-Scraper machines.Solution

The location of set screws are one on each end on the rod end of the steering column.Inspect the two 8T-9336 Set Screws . The location of the set screws are one at each end on the rod end of the steering column. Refer to Illustration 1 for the location of the set screws. Check the set screws for any looseness. If the set screws are loose, remove the set screws. Clean the surfaces on the linkage. Check the threads of the set screws and check the heads of the set screws for any wear. If there is any indication of wear, the set screws should be replaced with new set screws. Apply 10 mL (0.3 oz) of 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound . EAME should use 10 mL (0.3 oz) of 185-3996 Thread Lock Compound . Tighten the screws to 0.7 0.15 N m (0.5 0.1 lb ft).
