Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from the sudden release of high pressure oil.Be sure the engine has been shut off for a minimum of five minutes to ensure that the accumulator pressure is zero.The accumulator is filled with dry nitrogen. Do not loosen or remove the valve or the cap from the top of the accumulator.
Personal injury can result from hot oil or hot components.At operating temperature, oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.Remove the fill cap only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Prevent the contamination of the power train when the hose assemblies and the components are removed from the machine. The contamination of the power train with foreign material will reduce the service life of the components.

Oil will need to be collected when the accumulator relief valve is removed.
Remove accumulator relief valve (1) from relief valve (2). Installation Procedure
Note: Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace any O-ring seals that are worn or damaged.Note: Before assembly, apply 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound to the O-ring seals.
Install accumulator relief valve (1) on relief valve (2). Note: When accumulator relief valve (1) is installed, tighten the accumulator relief valve to a torque of 65 5 N m (47.9 3.7 lb ft).Note: After the accumulator relief valve is connected, fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual.Note: For the disassembly procedure and the assembly procedure, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Steering) - Disassemble" and Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Steering) - Assemble".
