EID Description Possible Cause/Recommended Response
E861 (1) Clock Manual Alignment Required. Probable Cause: The ECM internal clock is too far out of alignment with the other control module clocks on the machine.
Recommended Action: Use the Cat ET service tool to align the clock with the other control modules.
E1248 (1) Front Cross Axle Lock Speed Mismatch Probable Causes: Mechanical failure of one of the front axle wheel speeds sensors or mechanical failure of the Front Cross Axle Lock Solenoid, or the Front Cross Axle Clutch Solenoid. The ATC Lamp on display will light and the Operator Monitor will display a warning message.
Recommended Action: This event code does not distinguish between the probable failures. Check and address any ATC faults. Use Cat ET to override solenoid value and measure pressure value at its respective tap point. If the measured pressure is not as expected, it is likely a mechanical solenoid failure.
E1249 (1) Center Cross Axle Lock Speed Mismatch Probable Causes: Mechanical failure of the center cross axle lock solenoid or mechanical failure of the center cross axle clutch. The ATC lamp on display will light and Operator Monitor will display warning message.
