Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the engine oil and filter. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove nut (1) and oil level gauge (2).

Remove nuts (3), nuts (6), clamps (4), clamps (8), hose (5), hose (9), and tube assembly (7).

Remove bolts (11), engine oil pan (10), and the gasket.

Remove bolts (13) and drain adapter (12).Installation Procedure
Install engine oil pan (10) in the reverse order of removal.

Tooling (A) should be applied at Locations (X) for a width of 4.00 1.00 mm (0.158 0.040 inch). Apply Tooling (A) to the joints.
