2. Loosen hose clamps and slide hose (1) up on the tube assembly.3. Remove the two bolts that hold the elbow to the cover assembly. Remove elbow (2) and tube assembly (3). 4. Remove three bolts (4). Remove cover assembly (5) and remove the regulator from the cover assembly. Remove the seal from the cover.5. Remove the right water temperature regulator.Install Water Temperature Regulators
Check all seals and gaskets. Check water temperature regulator, see Specifications manual. If parts are damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Install the lip type seal in the cover assembly for the water temperature regulators with tooling (A). Install the seal until it makes contact with the counterbore in the cover assembly and with the lip of the seal away from the regulator. 2. Install the gasket. Put water temperature regulator (1) in position in cylinder head assembly or install in cover assembly.3. Put cover assembly (2) in position over the water temperature regulator and against the cylinder head assembly. Install the three bolts that hold the cover assembly in position on the cylinder head assembly. 4. Slide the hose in position on the cover assembly and tighten the hose clamps. Put tube assembly (4) and elbow (3) in position on the cover assembly and install the bolts that hold the elbow in position.5. Install the right water temperature regulator.6. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See Lubrication and Maintenance Guide.
