Removal Procedure
Start By:
Install the truck body retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Put identification marks on all wire harness and cable assemblies for installation purposes.

Use an allen wrench to loosen the bolt (not shown) that secures wire harness (1) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2). Disconnect wire harness (1) from VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2).
Remove four bolts (3) and the washers that secure VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2) to the mounting bracket. Remove VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2) from the machine.

Use an allen wrench to loosen the bolt (not shown) that secures wire harness (4) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5). Disconnect wire harness (4) from VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5) .
Remove four bolts (6) and the washers that secure VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5) to the mounting bracket. Remove VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5) from the machine.Installation Procedure
Verify that all of the components of the VIDS/VIMS electronic control are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.
Inspect all of the components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

Position VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5) to the machine. Install four bolts (6) and the washers that secure VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5) to the mounting bracket.
Connect wire harness (4) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5). Use an allen wrench to tighten the bolt (not shown) that secures wire harness (4) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (5).

Position VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2) to the machine. Install four bolts (3) and the washers that secure VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2) to the mounting bracket.
Connect wire harness (1) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2). Use an allen wrench to tighten the bolt (not shown) that secures wire harness (1) to VIDS/VIMS electronic control (2). End By: Remove the truck body retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
