The attachment code is saved in the VIMS main module when the attachment code is entered in the message display. The attachment code identifies the attachments that are on a machine. The attachment code tells the implement electronic control module (ECM), the power train ECM, and the engine ECM the physical limits of the machine. If the attachment code does not match the actual attachments on the machine, a diagnostic code may be generated. New attachment codes are detected and recorded.Test Step 1. CLEAR THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE.The power of the machine must be cycled after a new attachment code has been entered into the VIMS main module.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Turn the key start switch back to the ON position. Expected Result:The original condition ceases to exist.Results:
YES - The original condition no longer exists. Repair: THE REPAIR IS COMPLETE.STOP
