Use a suitable towing vehicle to position undercarriage (10) under the carbody. The weight of undercarriage (10) is approximately 1814 kg (4000 lb).
Apply Tooling (G) to the dowels before you lower the carbody onto the undercarriage frame.

Illustration 3 g06280637Note: Lower the carbody by small increments to keep the carbody level.
Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (E) to lower the carbody onto the undercarriage in small increments. Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303 , "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (E).
The weight of the carbody is approximately 5443 kg (12000 lb).

Align the mark on the mating parts of the swing gear and bearing housing for installation purposes. Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of two of bolts (9) before installation. Install two of bolts (9) on each side of the swing gear and bearing housing. Tighten two bolts (9) to a torque of 216 22 N m (160 16 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (F).

Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of remaining bolts (9). Install bolts (9). Tighten remaining bolts (9) to a torque of 216 22 N m (160 16 lb ft).

Remove Tooling (D) and Tooling (E).

Without the sun gear in place, the brakes are ineffective. Personal injury or death could result. Provide other means to hold or stop the machine.
Remove bolts (5) and cover (6). Install sun gear (8). Apply a bead of Tooling (H) around the mating surface of cover (6). Install cover (6) and bolts (5). Repeat for the other side of the machine.
Install plug (7). Tighten plug (7) to a torque of 49 5 N m (36 4 lb ft). Repeat for the other side of the machine.
Fill each final drive to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the correct capacity. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Final Drive Oil Level - Check" for the proper filling procedure.

Install fittings (3). Connect hose assemblies (2) to swivel (4).
Remove Tooling (C) from the hydraulic tank.

Install boom cylinder (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Cylinder - Install".
Remove Tooling (A).
Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities".End By:
Install the counterweight.
Install the bucket.
