Information:

1. Connect steering frame lock link (1). See the topic, "Separate & Connect Steering Frame Lock Link" in this module.2. Place wood blocks in front of and behind the rear tires.

844 Wheel Tractor3. Place Tooling (A) under the machine.4. Using Tooling (A) and (B), raise the front of the machine until the front tires are just off the floor. Secure Tooling (A) with the lock rings.

844 Wheel Tractor5. Fasten suitable lifting device and hoist to the tire and rim assembly. Remove all nuts (1) and the washers, and remove tire and rim assembly (2). The weight of the tire and rim assembly is 2724 kg (6000 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the front tire and rim assemblies.6. Be sure that the mating surface of the rim assembly and the front axle housing group are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to installing the tire and rim assembly.7. Fasten suitable lifting device and a hoist to tire and rim assembly (2). Place the tire and rim assembly in position on the front axle housing group. Install nuts (1) and the washers that hold the tire and rim assembly.8. Tighten nuts (1) to a torque of 900 100 N m (660 75 lb ft).9. Lower the machine to the ground and remove Tooling (A).10. The rear axle housing group is made to oscillate. During removal and installation of the rear tires and rim assemblies, the rear axle housing group must be blocked to prevent it from oscillating. Improper blocking of the rear axle housing assembly can result in possible personal injury.
2. Place wood blocks in front of and behind both the front and rear tires.3. Place wood blocks between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame on both sides of the machine as shown. The wood blocks should have a tight fit. 4. Position Tooling (A) on level surface under the rear main frame as shown. Raise the machine until the tires and rim assemblies are just off the floor. Secure Tooling (A) with the lock rings. 5. Remove all but two nuts (2) and the washers from tire and rim assembly. 6. Fasten lifting slings around the tire and rim assembly. Remove the last two nuts (2) and the washers from the rim assembly. Remove the tire and rim assembly. The weight of the tire and rim assembly is 2724 kg (6000 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the rear tires and rim assemblies.7.
