Information:

and harness connectors.Results:
YES. - The resistance measurement is less than 5.0Ω. The error signal circuit and the return circuit are not open in the machine harness. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO. - The resistance measurement is greater than 5.0Ω. There is an open or a bad connection in one of the circuits.Repair: Further resistance measurements are required in order to isolate the circuit that has the open or the poor connection.Resistance measurements greater 5 ohms but less than 5kΩ indicate that a connection point is not open, but is not a good connection. Resistance measurements greater than 5kΩ could indicate a wire is either not connected or is open in the machine harness. Check the resistance of each circuit individually. Check the continuity of the return circuit (connector contact 5 (wire H807-YL(Yellow)) and the error signal circuit (connector contact 2 (wire U742-WH(White)) individually in order to isolate the open or poor connection in the circuit.Once the problem has been isolated, refer to the complete machine Electrical System Schematic. Verify that all connection points in the suspected part of the circuit are clean, secure and in good condition. Check the 70 pin connector that passes the circuits through the bulkhead at the front of the cab. Verify that the connections for suspect circuit are clean, secure and in good condition.Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK THE ERROR AND CONTROL SIGNAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORTThe key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position. The machine harness connectors from the steering valve control module and the Implement ECM 2 remain disconnected.
At the J1 machine harness connector for the Implement ECM 2, measure the resistance between the error signal contact J1-40 (wire U742-WH(White)) and frame ground. measure the resistance between the error signal contact J1-40 (wire U742-WH(White)) and all of the other J1 and J2 contacts that are used on the Implement ECM 2 connectors.
At the J2 machine harness connector for the Implement ECM 2, measure the resistance between the steer control signal contact J2-20 (wire X725-GY(Grey)) and frame ground. Measure the resistance between the steer control signal contact J2-20 (wire X725-GY(Grey)) and all of the other J1 and J2 contacts that are used on the Implement ECM 2 connectors. Expected Result:Each of the resistance measurements for both circuits is greater than 5kΩ.Results:
YES. - Each of the resistance measurements for both circuits are greater than 5kΩ. The resistance measurements are not indicating that there is a short in the control signal circuit or the error signal circuit. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO. - One or more resistance measurements are less than 5kΩ. There is a short in one or both of the circuits.Repair: There is a short in the control signal circuit or the error signal circuit. The short is between the two circuits that measure the low resistance between each other or between the measured circuit and frame ground.Refer to the complete machine Electrical System Schematic. Examine all of the suspect
