D348 Engines, D10 Tractors, 776 Tractors, 777 TrucksDescription of Change: A filter has been added to the drain hole in water pump bodies on D348 Engines. Formerly, the drain hole was open and could become plugged with dirt. This could then cause coolant to be forced around the water pump seal and into the lubrication oil. The filter helps prevent the drain hole from being plugged.Adaptable To: The 4N5834 Filter has been added to the 6N6366 Water Pump Group as shown in the chart. To add the filter to a water pump group on earlier D348 Engines, use an 8 mm (.312") drill and enlarge the existing drain hole in the body. (See Illustration.)
